Day 1: Welcome to Roma!
Your Greece and Italy holiday from Australia starts in the ancient city of Rome, where you can explore world-famous sites such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum. One of our professional drivers will pick you up from the airport in a luxury car to whisk you to your centrally located hotel, where there’ll be time to settle in before you enjoy the world’s most fascinating urban centre on a half-day guided tour of Ancient Rome, featuring iconic delights, such as the Colosseum and Roman Forum. What a wonderful way to start your glorious stay in the Eternal City!

Day 2: Discover the secrets of Vatican City
Today you’ll enjoy a four-hour guided tour of Vatican City led by an accredited tour guide and featuring the highlights of the Vatican, including the extensive museums and the stunning St Peter’s Basilica – perhaps the most impressive church in the world! You’ll also have an opportunity to see the Sistine Chapel and its ceiling masterpiece that was famously painted by Michelangelo between 1508 and 1512. In the evening, we will treat your taste buds to a tasting experience of authentic Roman snacks and local wine at several local estates in and around Rome’s centre guided by one of our expert tour guides.

Day 3: Travel from Rome to Sorrento
Bid “arrivederci” to Rome and enjoy a relaxing train journey to the coastal resort of Sorrento, where you will spend four relaxing nights amidst sea-view landscapes, fragrant lemon groves and the enticing scent of authentic pizza served fresh from a wood-burning oven.

Day 4: Tour of Naples
Today you can enjoy a guided bus and walking tour of Naples, with panoramic views of this impressive city, covering the three major areas: “Monumental Naples”, featuring Piazza del Plebiscito, Gallery Umberto I, Palazzo Reale, San Carlo Theatre and Nuovo Castle; “Panoramic Naples”, with Via Caracciolo, Mergellina and Posillipo; and finally, “Historical Naples”, including the famous street of “Spaccanapoli” with the Gesù Nuovo and Santa Chiara churches. After exploring the delights of Naples, you will return to Sorrento, where you can unwind and relax.

Day 5: Travel back in time with a tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum

Day 7: Travel from Italy to Greece
It’s time to leave Italy and continue your journey through the sunshine countries of Europe as today we take you to a glorious resort in Santorini, which is one of the Cyclades islands. This resort is perfectly placed for a sunny vacation and regularly appears in travel magazines as one of the world’s top island escapes. It features a stunning coastline decorated with white-washed villas capped with blue domes and vibrant flowers that flow down to the clear, aquamarine waters.

Day 8: Cruise experience

Day 10: Travel from Santorini to Mykonos
After plenty of time to absorb the stunning scenes in Santorini, your rejuvenating holiday in Greece continues as today we take you to the charming resort of Mykonos, which is known as the Island of the Winds thanks to the cooling summer breeze that comes in from the north. Mykonos is one of Greece’s most popular islands and we’re sure you will love the beaches and the secret island coves here, as well as the quaint windmills that the island is known for. After arrival, the rest of the day is yours to enjoy.

Day 11: Learn about Mykonos’ vibrant culture, with wine tasting
Mykonos has a particularly rich heritage, with local traditions and a lively history that you can discover on this four-hour small-group tour, led by a professional and experienced guide. As a part of this relaxed walking tour, we will take you away from the main streets and through the old pirate alleys so that you can discover the heart of the island’s culture. You will visit famous attractions, such as the Agricultural Museum, which features Bonis windmills, the Folklore Museum and the Nautical Museum, with its intricate ship models of all the epochs and the old light house from Cape Armenistis. Day 12: Leisure day

Day 13: Travel from Mykonos to Athens

Day 14: Discover the Acropolis of Greece
Today you will have the opportunity to see one of the world’s most treasured structures on a walking tour of the fascinating and historic Acropolis in Athens. This full-day tour includes a guided walk around Syntagma Square and the charming old Plaka district, before you will be taken to the epic UNESCO-listed Acropolis, where our guide will tell you all about this fascinating site and show you the Parthenon. Finally, as a finale to your Athens day tour, you will enjoy a scenic trip to see the the Temple of Poseidon, which is a 5th century BC temple perched on sea cliffs at Cape Sounion. What a wonderful way to end your day of sightseeing in Athens!

Day 15: “Antio” Greece!

Please note that this Greece and Italy holiday package does not include outbound/inbound flights. When purchasing your flights from your chosen airline, we recommend that you fly into Rome Ciampino or Fiumicino Airport and fly out of Athens International Airport to take advantage of your private airport transfers. The package does include internal flights between Italy and Greece – please note that the flight options are seasonal and if a direct flight is not available for your chosen dates then an indirect option will be offered (for example, travelling by train from Sorrento to Rome and then flying from Rome to Athens).

Please note that the Vatican Museums in Rome are closed on Sundays and religious holidays. In the case of unavailability, alternate itinerary options will be offered.
